Hailing from New Jersey, Grammy-nominated producer and DJ Wuki (aka Kris Barman) has quickly cemented a global fan-base with his ability to blend multiple genres and seamlessly mix booty, breaks, electro and house into hard-hitting club-shakers. Cutting his teeth in the music scene as a guitarist/pianist in the electronic rock band Innerpartysystem from 2007-2011, Wuki has since gone on to grow his solo project into the globally recognizable name it is today, racking up over 60 million streams across all platforms to-date for his music.

Delivering his first-ever self release as Wuki in 2012 with a four-track EP called ‘Something For Everyone Vo. 1’, he continued to produce memorable tracks in the years to follow, including ‘Diwali’, ‘Buffalo Bass’, ‘Jungle Funk’ and ‘That’s Right’. In 2015, Wuki gained worldwide recognition for his remix of RL Grime and Big Sean’s 2015 hit‘Kingpin’, that quickly shot the producer to the top of the charts. After releasing a substantial amount of music on noteable imprints such as OWSLA, Main Course, Mad Decent, Fool’s Gold, Ultra, Wuki wanted to take full-creative control over his own music and develop his own brand. He set up his own record label Wukileaks, a platform he uses for releasing edits and supporting friends that have clocked up millions of streams to date.

Wuki’s hit remixes and bootleg edits caught the eyes of industry heavyweights including Skrillex, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, The Chainsmokers, Anna Lunoe, Zeds Dead, Diplo among many others, with the latter offering Wuki his own monthly radio show, Wukileaks Wednesdays, on Diplo’s Revolution. Not only has Wuki captivated the hearts of the dance community, Wuki has caught the attention of music’s most influential and prestigious audience The Recording Academy, who nominated Wuki for his first-ever Grammy award this year in the ‘Best Remixed Recording’ category for his remix of pop-starlet Miley Cyrus’ hit ‘Mother’s Daughter’. More recently, Wuki has become a Tiktok phenom with his track ‘Better’ being used on the Tiktok platform 3 million times to date, and edit ‘DADADADA’ quickly picking up steam climbing upwards of 330 thousand times.

Looking ahead, there’s no signs of Barman taking his foot off the gas anytime soon. He kicked off 2020 with a 16-date North American tour ‘Ro Sham Bo’ and four-track EP of the same name alongside fellow electronic visionary Nitti Gritti, giving both artists the chance to flex their energetic DJ styles and masterful production. 2021 is set to be a big one for Wuki as he’s releasing his debut album which includes highly sought after features such as Diplo, Smokepurpp, and Juvenile to name a few. It’s simply another step in Wuki’s rapid-fire ascent to the pinnacle of dance music - a journey he is determined to complete at record speed.
